Industrial Engineer (FMCG PLANT)

Principal Accountabilities:

Performance Measurement and Optimization

  • Develop, and agree standards for capacity (SOCs), labour (Labour Standards) and excesses with Ops/Eng.
  • Measure performance vs. SOC
  • Track KPIs on a periodic basis and compiling scorecards.
  • Represent IE in the daily FMOS meetings.
  • Lead different activities that will improve the TRS of the Factory, (ex: SMED implementation)
  • Suggest and implement methods and modifications to optimise work place ergonomics for increased productivity
  • Improve financial model of factory SKUs.

Capacity & resources management

  • The jobholder is the responsible to highlight and recommend ways of balancing utilisation along the year.
  • Implement and improve the changeover matrix, recommend min. economic batch sizes and production sequence.
  • Agreement of line staffing with Operations and periodic control and feedback.
  • Review and approve proposed equipment layouts, operational designs and material flows, which impact direct cost elements, with a vision toward achieving plant long-term objectives.
  • Maintain capacity analysis for each process function for evaluation of potential capacity constraints and link capacity with future demand development in the region.

Supply Activities Leadership:

  • To lead the execution of approved supply activities to the agreed timelines and transfer prices.
  • To assess and recommend supply and market activities to enhance the growth and profitability of the Business.
  • Conduct time and motion study and trials to evaluate operating capacities, labour requirement and line capability for new activities.
  • Recommend ways to improve efficiency of new products introduction through trials and input in BARs and MBITs.
  • To promote, lead and support affiliate sales to improve factory utilisation and business profitability.
